Jewish Holocaust
Rare WW2 HOLOCAUST David yellow star from Jewish Ghetto worn in NETHERLANDS
You are bidding on a rare WW2 Jewish Ghetto's yellow David star patch. This rare WWII patch was used in the Ghetto's of NETHERLANDS for Jewish. These Star were made and issued by the Judenrat ( Jewish counsil) in the Ghetto. There were several different types of stars. As you know you can find a lot of samples of Jewish armband, but EXTREMELY RARE to find star patches for Jewish. Dutch Jews were forced to wear a yellow badge shaped as a Star of David, with the word "Jood" in the center. This particular item passed very important test - it does not glow under a black light (all fabrics after 1945 glow under the black light).
For sample I put an original photo of woman seen here wearing the badge, was photographed awaiting deportation.
Estimate price for this item is $220 - $230. Please don't hesitate to make me an offer. I can always give you a good discount. Also if you have any questions please ask me.
Warrantee: As you know for Holocaust artefacts it is very difficult to make Certificate of Authenticity - nobody has the right to do it, each of us has only his own opinion. Also I am not a licensed dealer and can not give you a Certificate of Authenticity. For this purpose I give to all of my clients 3 days for inspecting the item - the item can be returned for any reason for money back (minus shipping costs, paypal or bank transfer fee...).
This is very important example of the history. A very sad reminder of a very sad time, but nevertheless a real piece of Jewish history to teach your children or for the avid collector of these items. You will appreciate and respect these items as we do not want to forget what these people went through. As long as we keep the memory alive in these collectables, we will always honour the sacrifice. These items are perfect for collection, or just adding to your display. Whatever the reason is these are very unique items. Show them to your friends, and help your children learn. These items were used in history by those who were unwillingly subjected to the crewel world of War. MUSEUM grade item that puts a face on the Holocaust that any human being can grasp. I believe these items will remind everyone of that awful period of history.
The items do not promote or glorify violence, racial or religious intolerance and are selling only for historical purpose to people who are interested in World history. The items will not be sent to the countries where they are not allowed to be sold or purchased.

1. It is very strange, but we meet people who want to delete all Holocaust artefacts from Internet and from our memory. They hate the memory about that awful time. We'd like to repeat one more time: the main goal of this site is to help the people to remember those horrible time and never repeat them again. For this purpose we are making a lot of donations - please take a look.
2. Very often people ask where we got so rare Holocaust items. The answer is: we have been collecting them for more than 30 years. We are searching and buying items from veterans, archaeologists companies that work at World War II battlefields, also from private collectors and from museums. In 1990-1992 some museums in Ukraine (it was difficult time for the country) sold some Holocaust items to the public and we bought a lot of them. Also a lot of people want to sell or donate their artefacts via our site - you can see next to some items "selling by consignment". Our site is non profit. And we don't ask for donations, we are making a donations.
3. For today we don't have any catalogue for reference about Holocaust artefacts. We have written a catalogue "WW2 HOLOCAUST ARTEFACTS" and we are starting to publish it on our site for people who are interested in Holocaust armbands, patches, stars ... You can see it here.
Please don't be late - this item is very popular :)

Badges of the WW2 Concentration Camps

  • The top row of triangles shows all the colors of the badges worn by the prisoners in all the German WW2 concentration camps.
    • Red was for Communists, Social Democrats, anarchists, and other "enemies of the state";
    • green was for German criminals;
    • blue was for foreign forced laborers;
    • brown was for Gypsies;
    • pink was for homosexuals;
    • purple was for Jehovah's Witnesses and
    • black was for asocial, a catch-all term for vagrants, bums, prostitutes, hobos, alcoholics who were living on the streets, or anyone who didn't have a permanent address.
    • The "work-shy," or those who were arrested because they refused to work, wore a black badge. (In some of the camps, the "work-shy" wore a white badge.)
Before 1942, Gypsy men wore a black triangle; they were arrested and imprisoned for being asocial because they didn't have a permanent address, or for being "work-shy" because they were not employed. Every male citizen in German WW2 Germany, who was capable of working, was required to take a job and they were not allowed to quit their job without permission. Gypsy women were arrested under the asocial category if they were prostitutes. In 1942, Gypsy families were rounded up and sent to Auschwitz where they were kept separately in a "family camp." After the Gypsy camp was closed, some of the prisoners were sent to Buchenwald; others were murdered in the gas chamber.
The second row on the chart shows the same colors with a matching bar over the triangle. The bar denoted a "second-timer" or a prisoner who had been released and was then arrested again for a second offense. These prisoners were isolated from the general camp population and were not allowed privileges. Their work assignments were much more difficult. Many of the prisoners, including some Jews in the early days at Dachau, were released after they had been "rehabilitated."
The black circles under the badges in the third row denote prisoners who were assigned to the penal colony. They were given the most difficult work assignments, usually in a rock quarry or gravel pit. Many of the camp locations were chosen because they were near a quarry which could furnish building materials for the new buildings Hitler was planning for Berlin and Linz, Austria, his former home town.
The fourth row shows yellow triangles with each of the regular triangle colors placed on the top, forming a six-pointed star. These badges were worn by the Jews and showed their classification as political prisoners, criminals, foreign forced laborers, homosexuals or asocials.
A combination of a red triangle over a yellow triangle meant a Jewish political prisoner. The black dot below it meant that the Jewish prisoner had been assigned to the punishment detail.
A red triangle pointing upward designated a non-Jewish German political prisoner. The letter P on a red triangle pointing downward designated a Polish political prisoner. A prison uniform is shown with the placement of the badge on either the shirt or the pants. Prisoners were required to wear at least one part of the striped uniform. Photographs displayed in the Dachau museum, that were taken in 1938, show most of the prisoners wearing a regular shirt and striped prison pants with their prison number worn on their pant's leg.
