Rare German WW2 ARMBAND for homosexual group worn in concentration camp GROSS - ROSEN
For your viewing is a rare WW2 ARMBAND for homosexual group with prisoner's number. The armband was wearing in concentration camp Gross - Rosen. Pink triangle was used for homosexuals. This particular armband passed very important test - it does not glow under the black lamp (all fabrics after 1945 glow under the black light).  Original pictures.
Estimate price for this item is $230 - $250. Please don't hesitate to make me an offer. I can always give you a good discount. Also if you have any questions please ask me.
Guarantee: As you know for Holocaust artifacts it is very difficult to make Certificate of Authenticity - nobody has the right to do it, each of us has only his own opinion. And I cannot prove the authenticity - I was not there nor do I know the person that it belonged to. I think for most items of this sort of artifacts that unless you've known the person or were a family member, it is almost impossible to prove the authenticity. Also I am not a licensed dealer and can not give you a Certificate of Authenticity. For this purpose I give to all of my clients 3 days for inspecting the item - the item can be returned for any reason for a full refund (minus shipping costs, paypal or bank transfer fee...).
This is very important example of the history. A very sad reminder of a very sad time, but nevertheless a real piece of Jewish history to teach your children or for the avid collector of these items. You will appreciate and respect these items as we do not want to forget what these people went through. As long as we keep the memory alive in these collectables, we will always honour the sacrifice. These items are perfect for education purposes or just adding to your display. Whatever the reason is these are very unique items. Show them to your friends, and help your children learn. These items were used in history by those who were unwillingly subjected to the crewel world of War. MUSEUM grade item that puts a face on the Holocaust that any human being can grasp. I believe these items will remind everyone of that awful period of history.
The items do not promote or glorify violence, racial or religious intolerance and are selling only for historical purpose to people who are interested in World history. The items will not be sent to the countries where they are not allowed to be sold or purchased.
If you'd like to have extra protection I can send you an invoice via PayPal or eBay
Also you can pay in parts 30% + 70% during a month or two !!
1. It is very strange, but we meet people who want to delete all Holocaust artefacts from Internet and from our memory. They hate the memory about that awful time. We'd like to repeat one more time: the main goal of this site is to help the people to remember those horrible time and never repeat them again. For this purpose we are making a lot of donations - please take a look. Fortunately most of people understand the goal of this site.
2. The Holocaust artefacts are very sensitive part of World history. Sometimes we are hearing the question why some items on your website are for sale, it have to be in a museums? The answer is simple: we have to make the site alive and without support it is impossible. Only this way allow the site to be alive and give the people possibility to see unique artefacts of Jewish Holocaust history. As you understand for today is impossible to find in Internet so many Holocaust artefacts in one place. BTW, we are going to donate all content of the site.
3. Very often people ask where we got so rare Holocaust items. The answer is: we have been collecting them for more than 30 years. We are searching and buying items from veterans, archaeologists companies that work at World War II battlefields, also from private collectors and from museums. In 1990-1992 some museums in Ukraine (it was difficult time for the country) sold some Holocaust items to the public and we bought a lot of them. Also a lot of people want to sell or donate their artefacts via our site - you can see next to some items "selling by consignment". Our site is non profit, non commercial site. And we don't ask for donations, we are making a donations.
4. For today we don't have any catalogue for reference about Holocaust artefacts. We have written a catalogue "WW2 HOLOCAUST ARTEFACTS" and we are starting to publish it on our site for people who are interested in Holocaust armbands, patches, stars ... You can see it here.

Please don't be late - this item is very popular :)

HISTORY*
The prisoners with a pink triangle identified themselves as gay (sometimes they were married to women, and engaged in very few, if any, homosexual acts). Not everyone convicted under Paragraph 175 was sent to a concentration camp; in fact, most were sent to ordinary jails. Most gay men who suffered and died in German WW2 concentration camps actually wore the yellow star (because they were both Gay and Jewish)
While the number of homosexuals in concentration camps is hard to estimate, Richard Plant gives a rough estimate of the number of men convicted for homosexuality "between 1933 to 1944 at between 50,000 and 63,000."
After the camps were liberated at the end of the Second World War, many of the pink triangle prisoners were often simply re-imprisoned by the Allied-instated Federal Republic of Germany. An openly gay man named Heinz Dцrmer, for instance, served 20 years in total both in a German WW2 concentration camp and then in the jails of the new Republic. In fact, the German WW2 amendments to Paragraph 175, which turned homosexuality from a minor offense into a felony, remained intact after the war for a further 24 years. While suits seeking monetary compensation have failed, in 2002 the German government released an official apology to the gay community.
Today, fewer than ten of those imprisoned for homosexuality are known to be still living. In 2000, the documentary film Paragraph 175 recorded some of their testimonies. The pink triangle is the basis of the design of the Homomonument in Amsterdam. The pink triangle, now a gay pride and gay rights symbol.
Paragraph 175 was adopted in 1871. Beginning in the 1890s, sexual reformers fought against the "disgraceful paragraph," and soon won the support of August Bebel, head of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). But a petition in the Reichstag to abolish Paragraph 175 foundered in 1898. In 1929, a Reichstag Committee decided to repeal Paragraph 175 with the votes of the Social Democrats, the Communist Party (KPD) and the German Democratic Party (DDP); however, the rise of the German WW2 Party prevented the implementation of the repeal. Although modified at various times, the paragraph remained part of German law until 1994.
In 1935, the German WW2s broadened the law so that the courts could pursue any "lewd act" whatsoever, even one involving no physical contact, such as masturbating next to each other. Convictions multiplied by a factor of ten to about 8,000 per year. Furthermore, the Gestapo could transport suspected offenders to concentration camps without any legal justification at all (even if they had been acquitted or already served their sentence in jail). Thus, between 5,000 and 15,000 homosexual men were forced into concentration camps, where they were identified by the pink triangle. The majority of them died there.
While the German WW2 persecution of homosexuals is reasonably well-known today, far less attention had been given to the continuation of this persecution in post-war Germany. In 1945, when concentration camps were liberated, homosexual prisoners were not freed but were instead made to serve out their sentence under Paragraph 175. In 1950, East Germany abolished German WW2 amendments to Paragraph 175, whereas West Germany kept them and even had them confirmed by its Constitutional Court. About 100,000 men were implicated in legal proceedings from 1945 to 1969, and about 50,000 were convicted (if they had not committed suicide before, as many did). In 1969, the government eased Paragraph 175 to an age of consent of 21. It was lowered to 18 in 1973, and finally repealed in 1994. East Germany had already reformed its more lenient version of the paragraph in 1968, and repealed it in 1988.
